The Cost of Revenge
Monday, March 27th, 2006Chat with me Bestbud Karlo on YM… one of our rare meaningful conversations.. hehe! i have noo idea how we came upon this subject… theeen bestbud had to go all of the sudden, boo! I could’ve expanded the subject more..
~~~~~~~
BestBud Karlo: people say that revenge is futile
BestBud Karlo: but…
Milcah: ….
BestBud Karlo: what if that’s the only way you can move on?
BestBud Karlo: do you think it’s worth it?
Milcah: depends, what’s the situation?
BestBud Karlo: it’s a hypothetical question
BestBud Karlo: no situation
Milcah: since when did you start using big words that i can’t understand, hmm?!?!?!
BestBud Karlo: hmm
BestBud Karlo: there’s no question
BestBud Karlo: I mean
BestBud Karlo: there’s no situation
Milcah: if the cost of revenge means you moving on and stepping on another person via revenge…
BestBud Karlo: then
Milcah: wait lemme think..
Milcah: ahahaha wait wait..
Milcah: so say you have moved on, but then if the revenge that you did against that other person hurts them beyond comprehensions and somehow effects and ruins their life…
Milcah: could you live with the guilt?
BestBud Karlo: so meaning… you both loose?
Milcah: yea either way
BestBud Karlo: well
BestBud Karlo: I think a person could live with that because the hatred drove him to revenge
BestBud Karlo: he would probable think that the person deserved it
Milcah: unless you both lower your pride and come up with a reasonable understanding
Milcah: are we pinpointing someone specifically here?
BestBud Karlo: that seems too idealistic and naive don’t you think?
BestBud Karlo: no
BestBud Karlo: no one
Milcah: it’s possible.
Milcah: but then again, people are known to have high pride standards, so it’s doubtable.
BestBud Karlo: possible but highly unlikely
Milcah: exactly.
BestBud Karlo: then what should one do?
Milcah: even is one is willing, it would be hard to convince the other.
Milcah: if your willing to let it go, just do that.
Milcah: God will take care of the rest, if the other person was completely wrong.
Milcah: karma points..
Milcah: bwahaha!
Milcah: heeck yeaa..
BestBud Karlo: hmm
BestBud Karlo: God cannot tamper with freewill
BestBud Karlo: besides
BestBud Karlo: he is known to be too nice
Milcah: but in the end of a persons life, it’s up to God if they can enter heaven, or be sent to hell.
Milcah: unless somehow they repent the sins they’ve committed.
BestBud Karlo: true
BestBud Karlo: but
BestBud Karlo: there are certain degrees
Milcah: of…?
BestBud Karlo: a person could damage the other without their knowing
Milcah: others can do it with full purpose
BestBud Karlo: and the degree of their sin is low
Milcah: aka, venial and mortal sins
BestBud Karlo: but what of the unfortunate ones?
BestBud Karlo: like those who have been forgotten
Milcah: ok, how `bout this..
BestBud Karlo: ?
Milcah: Jesus was condemned and crucified.
BestBud Karlo: and
Milcah: and despite that, did he want to take revenge on the people who looked down upon him?
BestBud Karlo: well
BestBud Karlo: Jesus is the perfect human
BestBud Karlo: we are not
BestBud Karlo: he had no sin
BestBud Karlo: we sin inevitably
Milcah: but we should also try to follow his footsteps.
Milcah: despite the sins we commit.
Milcah: would God like you to take revenge on the other person who has wronged you?
BestBud Karlo: no
Milcah: even if it means you getting to move on?
Milcah: there, you answered your own question.
BestBud Karlo: but he wouldn’t want you to be stuck in something that’s already in the past
Milcah: then get yourself unstuck and move forward.
BestBud Karlo: how exactly?
Milcah: don’t let your past affect your present.
BestBud Karlo: you do know that an even with a high impact doesn’t disappear from memory
BestBud Karlo: it hides to your subconscious mind
BestBud Karlo: and affects you without your control
Milcah: then resort to pastlife regression.
BestBud Karlo: well
BestBud Karlo: fine
Milcah: you’ll just have to live your life as best as possible
BestBud Karlo: easier said than done
Might as well add some stuff… i’m on a roll here.. hehe! Anywayz…
If you do take revenge, it’s nearly the same as commiting a mortal sin, depending on the intensity of the act of revenge. You do it with full knowledge and purpose. So basically, if that’s the case, the price of moving on could inevitbly mean commiting mortal sin, which may deny you the entrance to heaven. And what if the person you took revenge upon, seeks revenge on you for taking revenge on them? There would be no end to it.
Point proven? Hopefully… Imma cut it here, it’s 11:30pm and I still need to take a shower. I’ve been cleaning like the whole day with my cousins at the other house… 2 floors of dust and dirt, untouched and uninhabited for months! All girl power, heckk yeaa! Ending in a 3 hour game of monopoly.. hehe! Ciao m`dears!
